8/2022 marks 1 year in business for myself. I absolutely love it. It was less difficult than I anticipated it to be. I wish I had done it sooner because the freedom is just incredible. I've been able to work less, be with my family more, and achieve some long held personal goals.
It seems fitting that August is my anniversary, because it's a natural time of transition anyways. Back to school time means a return to a consistent routine with school. It's the mark of the last few weeks of summer. The start of harvest. And a good time to evaluate one's yearly goals. You can make some changes and hopefully, find renewed motivation to meet them.
This year I have focused on increasing my knowledge and competence in these areas: Trans and LGBTQ+ clients, neurodiverse populations, Infant and Neonatal Loss, and Brainspotting for Trauma. I've engaged in most of these trainings already, and have Brainspotting scheduled for the fall (woot woot!)
It has been an absolute privilege to witness and hold space for the lives of my clients. Thank you for allowing me to serve you. And thank you for helping this business become and remain a resource in our community. May the next year be even better for us all!
